broomecounty.com is the open directory for Broome County, New York — a free, locally-sourced guide to the businesses and services that keep the Southern Tier running, plus the county and civic information residents actually need. Our goal is simple: be the most useful place to find a local business in Broome County.
How the directory works
Every business can be listed for free. Listings are sourced from public business data and from owners who add their own business — we review each submission for accuracy before it goes live. Search results and category pages are ordered on the merits; we don’t take money to change where a business ranks organically.
Businesses that want to stand out can buy a Featured placement — a clearly-marked paid spot at the top of their category (and, on the Premium plan, the homepage). Featured listings are always labeled as paid placements, so you always know the difference between an ad and an organic result. That advertising is what keeps the directory free for everyone, and a free weekly community digest — The Broome Weekly — is on the way.
Who’s behind it — and our ownership disclosure
broomecounty.com is operated by Ryan Davis LLC, a local company that also runs a handful of Broome County service businesses (for example our web, hosting, and home-service brands). Those businesses are listed here too — as ordinary listings, marked with a small “same owner” note, and held to exactly the same rules as everyone else. They get no automatic featured placement and no thumb on the scale; if one of them appears as Featured, it paid for that spot like any other advertiser.
