BroomeCounty.com is a free guide to Broome County, New York. Any business can be listed at no cost. This page explains who runs the site, which listings have a business relationship with us, and how we mark them.
Who runs this site
BroomeCounty.com is owned and operated by Ryan Davis LLC, a local company in the greater Binghamton area.
Businesses we own
Ryan Davis LLC also owns a few businesses that appear in this guide:
- LuckyTyke: web design and development for small businesses
- WebOps Hosting: managed WordPress hosting and website care
- Osita: search marketing (SEO and paid search)
Their listings carry a small “Same owner” badge. They are listed under the same rules as every other business and get no free Featured placement.
Referral listings
A few listings are advertising and referral listings that we run ourselves, for example our Binghamton pest control listing. We do not do that work. When you contact one of these listings, we review your inquiry and may pass it to an independent local provider, who may pay us for the referral. We aim to work with one such provider per trade.
These listings carry a “Referral listing” badge, and each listing page says the same thing in full. If you run a local business and would like to be that partner, see Partner with us.
How placement works
- Listing a business is free.
- Search results and category pages list businesses on the merits. We do not take money to change where a business ranks among them.
- Featured spots are paid advertising. Featured listings can appear above the others on the homepage and in their category, and they are labeled Featured. A business we own or refer to appears as Featured only if it pays for that spot, like any other advertiser.
- Our articles and columns carry a disclosure line when a piece is a paid placement, is sponsored, or is a paid review.
Data and accuracy
We compile listings from public business data and from owners who add their own business, and we work to keep them accurate. If you spot an error, or you own a business and want to update or correct its listing, tell us and we will fix it.
